The cold winter months bring lots of wonderful things like snow, scarves and hot chocolate. But they also bring dry, chapped lips.
I usually find myself applying copious amounts of chapstick, which only temporarily alleviates the burning.
This year I thought I’d try something new.
This super easy vegan lip scrub not only moisturizes my lips with pure coconut oil, it also gently sloughs off all the flaky skin so my lips look healthy and untouched by winter’s harsh weather.
Here’s how to make it.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon solid coconut oil
1 tablespoon organic raw cane sugar (fine granules)
Instructions
Mix the ingredients in a small bowl just until they are evenly combined. If you over-mix, the sugar will begin to dissolve.
Place a small amount on your lips and gently rub in a circular motion.
After you’re done exfoliating, let the mixture sit on your lips for another minute or two to allow the coconut oil to soak in.
Rinse with warm water.
