Plant-Based Nutrition Program Seeks to End Type 2 Diabetes

Lifestyle medicine company, Nutrinic, recently launched a six-week program to provide education, skills, personalized nutrition, and dedicated support to fight pre-diabetes.

“Interest in vegan diets is at an all-time high, with a growing list of documentaries, doctors, and top-level athletes espousing the benefits,” program lead and registered dietitian Matt Ruscigno said.

“Yet most people simply don’t know where to begin or [how] to overcome the challenges of eating well. LIPPD goes beyond knowledge and teaches the skills for long-term success without being overly restrictive. Our philosophy is skill-power over willpower!”

Plant-Based Nutrition Program Seeks to End Type 2 Diabetes

Nutrinic LIPPD (Lifestyle Intervention Program to Prevent Diabetes) aims to reverse prediabetes, which is a chronic condition affecting over 84 million Americans.

“While we focus on type 2 diabetes prevention and are working primarily with pre-diabetics (an incredible 1 in 3 US adults have pre-diabetes), I believe the program is useful for everyone who wants to learn about nutrition, the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases, or simply how to make the changes they’ve always wanted to make,” said Ruscigno in a blog post.

For $399, participants will be given 15 video courses to learn about insulin resistance, what to eat, how to shop and more; three hours of one-on-one consultations with registered dietitians; an eating plan tailored to the individual’s lifestyle, tastes and budget; and much more.
